![]() The cathedral ceiling is a real win win way of building. A ceiling fan can be easily installed and works more efficiently. It provides as well a comfort on the temperature front as low ceiling generates more heat. Aesthetically it gives a pleasant feeling. We need also to note that the owner has installed a "sandwich type roof" : two aluminum sheets with an insulation inserted in between. This type of roofing material is very rare in the construction in Seychelles. When entering the villa, one can appreciate the cooling effect of this special roofing sheets. This special insulated roof contributes as well to decrease significantly the noise of the heavy rain on the roof. |

As we are in the kitchen, it is interesting to note that the working slabs are made of granite [also in the bathrooms]; the floor tiles in the house are made of synthetic granite imported from Italy, considered more resistant than the natural granite. |

| Chers amis francophones Cette villa est situee dans un cartier haut de gamme a Macchabee, dns le nord de Mahe. La surface de la properiete est de 5100 m2, ce qui est une surface deja large selon les criteres seychellois. Toute la propriete est cloturee. Une partie a ete cloturee separemment et reste a l'etat de non developpement, et est utilisee comme surface de plantation. [les 4 dernieres photos de la presentation] Le terrain est en bout de chemin prive, donc le cote privatif est assure. Personne n'a en fait de raison de venir se promener ou de se trouver sur ce chemin et encore moins devant la grille du jardin. La villa, d'une surface de 350 m2, est en parfaite condition. Nous y trouvons dans la partie basse un studio independant [chambre et salle de bain]; la partie principale de la villa a 3 chambres et deux salles de bain. La chambre principale a sa propre salle de bain et terrasse. Les deux autres chambres se partagent une salle de bain. Une piscine de 7 metres de long est un complement de confort interessant d'autant plus que vous avez une magnifique vue sur la mer, meme de la piscine. Quelques rensignements supplementaires: il existe un systeme d'alarme efficace, lie avec une societe de guardienage, qui s'ajoute a la presence des amis canins qui se promenent dans la propriete. Au niveau construction, il est a noter que le revetement du toit est fait d'un amalgame de deux feuilles de tolle avec un interstice rempli d'isolant; un produit allemand, ce qui est de mieux sur le marche. L'effet est triple: la duree dans le temps [composant aluminium], isolation termique que l'on percoit immediatement en rentrant dans la maison, isolation acoustique quand les pluies equatoriales de la saison de la pluie martellent les habitations. Vous avez pu noter le carrelage fait de granite synthetique importe d'Italie plus resistant que le granite naturel. Egalement les dessus des tables de travail dans la cuisine et les tablettes dans les salles de bain. C'est un oephemisme de dire que cette construction a ete soignee, notamment dans le choix qualitatif des materiaux employes.
